The Head of the Qatari Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, reiterated in a meeting with the visiting Libyan House of Representatives' (HoR) Speaker, Aqila Saleh, Doha's support for all efforts leading to peace and stability in Libya, unity of its territories, and the achievement of all aspirations of the Libyan people, in addition to backing up all Security Council resolutions in this regard.

The Council said in a statement Sunday that the meeting between Al-Ghanim and Saleh saw discussions on the latest developments in Libya and ways to increase parliamentary cooperation between Libya and Qatar.

The statement said Saleh had hailed Doha's firm stances in support of Libyans and its efforts to regain stability in Libya, in addition to supporting the Libyan people in their aspirations for building their country.

HoR Speaker Aqila Saleh, along with a delegation that included Khalifa Haftar's son Belgassem, met on Sunday with the Emir of Qatar Shiekh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha, Qatar News Agency has reported.

The news agency added that the Qatari Emir reiterated in the meeting on Sunday the firm stance of Doha in support of the Libyan people and their aspiration for the unity of Libya.
