The Special Deterrence Force (SDF) denied on Wednesday news of the death of member of Benghazi Shura Council, Mohamed Alabbar, who is detained in their prison in Mitiga.

The spokesman for the Special Deterrence Force, Ahmed Bin Salem, said that Alabbar was in good health and that they allow him to contact his family.

He claimed that Alabbar is being held on charges related to “terrorism”, without elaborating.

Bin Salem had previously denied the release of some of the detainees, mostly from Benghazi, from their prison.

Earlier, the SDF released Sheikh Abdul-Razzaq Emshirib after nearly three months of detention without providing any reasons for his arrest.
