The Joint Health Chamber in Al-Khums Municipality declared a state of emergency as a result of clashes that took place in the municipality on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, while Al-Khums Education Hospital received the bodies of two dead and three injured people as a result of those clashes.
The Chamber deployed members of the Ambulance and Emergency Department, Emergency Medicine and Support in the vicinity of the clashes' site, warning residents not to approach the area, according to a statement by the municipality on its Facebook page.
The Media Office at Al-Khums Education Hospital said in a statement that situation saw an uneasy calm, noting that two of the wounded people were injured by bullets and shrapnel, adding that they were treated and transferred to another hospital.
The statement indicated that another injured person was treated, as he was in critical condition, saying that he was treated with the participation of specialists from the surgery and orthopedics departments.
