The member of the Presidential Council (PC), Abdullah Al-Lafi, met on Wednesday, with the British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, to discuss the latest political developments in Libya and issues of common interest.

Both sides reviewed the latest stages of launching the national reconciliation project. Al Lafi expressed his hope for local and international support for these efforts.

Hurndall affirmed her country's contribution to pushing all parties involved in the political process to agree on a constitutional basis, on the basis of which free and fair elections will be held with the participation of all, according to the PC media office.

PC member Al-Lafi stressed the importance of holding parliamentary and presidential elections, and reaching an agreement on a constitutional framework that guarantees their success and acceptance of their results, in order to achieve the Libyan people's desire for stability.
