Al-Ahly Benghazi won the city's derby match against Al-Nasser 1-0 at Benina Martyrs Stadium on Saturday as part of the ninth round of the Libyan premier league.
Defender Hamid Al-Thalba scored for Al-Ahly at the minute 71 from the spot, which made the team top the first group at the end of the first-leg round with 27 points; winning all matches, while Al-Nasser reached 16 points - third of the group - and Al-Akhdar remained second with 22 points.
Also at this round, Al-Ittihad drew Al-Sweihli 0-0 on Friday at Abu Salim Stadium in Tripoli, thus recording its fourth so far this season, while Al-Sweihli registered its first draw in the last four matches and the third this season.
Al-Ittihad is still on top of the second group with 19 points, Al-Sweihli became third with 15 and Al-Ahly Tripoli second with 16 points after winning 2-0 against Abu Salim team.
League matches will be on a break for two weeks. The next round will kick off in February.
