Libyan Al-Ahly Tripoli football club won 2-0 against Zambia’s Zanaco football club at Benina Stadium in Benghazi, thus becoming second on group one of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ahmed Al-Terbi scored the first goal at the minute 79 and Mohammed Munir scored the second goal at the minute 84 to secure Al-Ahly’s win against Zanaco and allowing it a second win with six points behind the first on the group Egypt’s Pyramids which has nine points after winning 1-0 against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien. Al-Ahly to play Zanaco in the second leg match in Zambia on March 11.

Meanwhile in the second group, Libya’s Al-Ittihad drew Algeria’s JS Saoura 1-1 at Benina Stadium in Benghazi. Mohammed Zaiba scored for the Libyans at the minute 26 and Mohammed Ameen evened the score after six minutes.

Al-Ittihad has now four points in third place by goal difference with JS Saoura. South Africa’s Orlando Pirates is first on the group with six points and Eswatini’s Royal Leopards fourth with zero points. Al-Ittihad has a delayed match with Royal Leopards on March 06.
