Libya’s Al-Ittihad football club won 3-2 against South Africa’s Orlando Pirates in the second round of group stage of CAF Confederation Cup at Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi.

Al-Ittihad’s match is the first at this competition this season after first round match against Royal Leopard club from Eswatini was moved to March.

Al-Ittihad scored first at the minute 14 by Sanad Al-Werfalli, but the Pirates leveled soon after. As of the minute 27, Moad Issa netted a second goal for Al-Ittihad, which failed to keep the lead as the South African team managed to even the score again before the break.

Al-Ittihad pressed on in the second half until Omar Al-Khouja scored the winner making it 3-2 for the Libyan team, which now is second of the group ahead of its game against JS Saoura of Algeria on Sunday at Benina Martyrs Stadium.
