Al-Ahly Tripoli brushed the Egyptian Pyramids from the top of Group A of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup after beating them 1-0 at the Benina Martyrs Stadium on Sunday, ending their undefeated streak.

Pyramids' defender Omar Jaber handed Al-Ahly Tripoli their win after shooting a ball by mistake in his teams' end in minute 54.

With this victory, Al-Ahly leads the way to the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup in Group A with 12 points, followed by the Pyramids with 10 points.

The last round of Group A matches will conclude at the beginning of April when Sfaxien hosts Al-Ahly Tripoli, and Pyramids will compete with the Zambian Zanaco. The matches will have no effects on Al-Ahly Tripoli and the Egyptian Pyramids, which are already through to the quarter-finals.

In Group B, Libya's other representative, Al Ittihad, gained a tough 3-2 victory over the Royal Leopards of Eswatini.

Defender Sanad Al-Werfalli gave his team the winning goal in the last minute of the match that took place on Sunday in Benghazi.

The results placed Al-Ittihad in second place of Group B with 10 points, with the 2015 runners-up Orlando Pirates leading the way with 12 points. Al-Ittihad needs to tie with Orlando Pirates in the match that will bring them together on April 3 to go through to the quarter finals.
