The third round of the six-court play-off competitions in the Libyan Football League has concluded with a victory for Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly Tripoli against their rivals Al-Akhdar and Al-Ahly Benghazi.

As a result, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly Tripoli share the lead with seven points each, while Al-Nasr slipped to third place after losing its match against the Olympics.

In the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Akhdar, Al-Akhdar advanced with a goal in the last minute of the first half with a left-footed shot by striker Ahmed Karoua, his third goal in the league.

Anas Al-Misrati leveled for Al-Ittihad in the 57th minute after following a ball played by Talal Farhat from the left side. Al-Ittihad scored the winning goal in the 80th minute from a penalty kick by Sanad Al-Werfalli.

Al-Ahly Tripoli was made to sweat in their win against Al-Ahly Benghazi, with their only goal scored by Mohamed Abu Zreik in minute 70 of the match.

On the other hand, the Olympic edged Al-Nasr, with a 1-0 win, with a header by team captain Hisham El-Ajnaf in the 69th minute.

The fourth round, scheduled for next Saturday, will witness a fiery confrontation between Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly Tripoli, which may determine who will win the Libyan League title for the 2021/2022 season.
