A man from the eastern city of Derna has been arrested by police on charges of beating and burning his wife with hot water, causing her first-degree burns.
The Derna Security Directorate reported that a woman filed a complaint against her husband after beating her.
According to the complaint, he accused her of adultery and burned her by pouring hot water on her body, causing her first-degree burns, according to the medical report.
The judicial police officer, accompanied by an investigation team, moved to inspect her house and arrest her husband.
After questioning him, he stated that there were family problems.
All due legal measures were taken against the accused, and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of serious harm and mistreatment of his wife.
