The Audit Bureau said it saved the Libyan state two billion dinars from its auditing of contracts and development plans during the past three years, stressing the need to verify the cost of completing projects and ensuring that prices are not exaggerated.
A statement by the Audit Bureau on Saturday explained that the total contracts it received during those years amounted to 704 ones, according to data from the General Administration for Auditing Contracts and Development Plans at the Bureau.
The Audit Bureau saved 1.3 billion dinars in 2022 after reviewing 422 contracts, 178 of which were approved and 244 others were rejected.
The value of the approved contracts amounted to 17 billion and 661 million dinars, and the rejected contracts amounted to 33 billion and 153 million dinars.
In 2023, the Bureau saved 583 million dinars, and the total number of contracts reached 197 approved and 172 rejected. The value of approved contracts amounted to 19 billion and 66 million dinars, and the rejected contracts amounted to 19.1 billion dinars.
In 2024, the Bureau provided 114 million dinars, and the total number of contracts reached 77 ones, 52 of which were approved and 25 were rejected. The value of approved contracts amounted to 1.74 billion dinars, and the rejected ones amounted to 448.5 million dinars.
