The Minister of Education of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Mousa Al-Magaryef, decided to grant municipal education monitors the chance to decide to halt classes next Sunday in order to preserve the safety of students, teachers, and workers in the sector due to weather fluctuations.

The National Center of Meteorology expects the northern regions to be affected by unstable weather conditions accompanied by heavy rain early next week.

The center said in a weather warning statement that rain will be very heavy in Tripoli and its vicinity, accompanied by thunderclouds, while rainfall will be between good and heavy in the areas from “Ras Ajdair border with Tunisia to Sirte and the municipalities of the Jaffara plain, Tarhuna, Msallata, and some areas of the Western Mountain.

Heavy rainfall will also hit the northeastern regions starting Saturday evening, especially in the area extending from Benghazi to Tobruk. Rain is expected on Saturday and Sunday and it can cause local valleys to flow and rainwater to accumulate in lower places, according to the center, which recommended that people be cautious and authorities be on alert for the safety of the people.
