The Derna Reconstruction Fund announced, on Friday, the arrival of the first commercial ship to the city's port since the Hurricane Daniel disaster struck sites in eastern region in September 2023.
The fund explained, in a statement, that the ship is loaded with 3,000 tons of cement for one of the companies’ implementing projects in the city.
The statement described the event as "a pivotal moment in the path of reconstruction"
The arrival of the ship contributes to the return of commercial activity to the city after the storm left behind severe damage, it added.
