The Minister of Interior of the Presidential Council, Abdul Salam Ashour, took part in a meeting held by the Minister of Local Government to bring together the heads of fuel distribution companies, Brega Oil Marketing Company and the mayors of southern municipalities to discuss ways of securing the transfer of fuel supplies from Tripoli depots to all regions of the south.

The Information Office of the Ministry of Interior said that the Presidential Council is keen to provide full support to all security departments to secure the transport of fuel from Tripoli to the regions of the south to help alleviate the suffering of the people of those areas.

It is worth noting that the southern Libyan fuel crisis began when armed gangs seized fuel trucks destined for the south and smuggled them out of the country. The government has so far failed to secure the roads.
