The High Council of State (HCS) has condemned Haftar's violation of the cease-fire after his militias attacked on Sunday the "Tendy" Camp in the city of Ubari, where the Southern Military Region forces of the legitimate Government of National Accord (GNA) are stationed.
"This violation is part of an external agenda aimed at thwarting any peaceful path for the Libyan crisis through dialogue," the HCS said in a statement, stressing that such acts confirm Haftar's lack of seriousness with any agreement, "as he did in the past".
The council expressed astonishment at the UN's mission silence regarding this breach, considering the attack as an obstruction to the course of peaceful political dialogue, and demanded sanctions against the attackers.
It also called on the GNA to step up its support for the legitimate forces stationed in southern Libya to ensure they can fulfill their duties effectively.
