Fifteen Libyan forensic experts, including six women, completed an intensive training course in genetics, toxicology, and anthropological investigations at the University of Rome Tor Vergata from February 3 to 12.

The course provided included advanced skills for addressing complex forensic challenges in Libya, reinforcing the country’s commitment to strengthening the capabilities of the Criminal Investigation Directorate’s laboratories across Tripoli, Benghazi, and Sebha, according to the European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) in Libya.

The training project focused on specific laboratory techniques and the monitoring of advanced forensic laboratory practices and equipment at Tor Vergata University in Rome, and was carried out through a collaborative arrangement between the university’s Department of Biomedicine and Prevention and EUBAM Libya.
