The Arabian Gulf Oil Company has denied any and all responsibility for the Mazut fuel oil spill, which reached as far as the Tobruk Corniche on the Libyan coast.

The company said in a statement on Sunday that the local council in Tobruk reported through press statements that this spill was caused by the Arab Gulf Oil Company.

It added that the chairman of the management committee of the company, Fadlallah Ahtiati, who was commissioned to study the situation in all aspects, confirmed that the company was not responsible for the spill.
