The Minister of Planning of the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Zidani, discussed, on Thursday, with the Resident Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Libya, Christopher Laker, the joint efforts between the two sides in multiple areas of development, and presented proposals to enhance cooperation in this regard.

During the meeting, Al-Zidani stressed the importance of the role of the Ministry of Planning as a body legally responsible for following up development projects with international bodies, and its commitment to strengthen effective partnerships to achieve sustainable development in Libya, according to a statement issued by the ministry.

The meeting touched on the proposal to establish a special development fund to manage projects in the areas affected by the floods in the city of Derna and its environs. In this context, the Minister praised the efforts of the UNDP and its positive impact in promoting stability and development in the affected areas.
