The Ministry of Planning in the Government of National Unity announced the adoption of 133 new Libyan standards and the cancellation of 14 outdated standards that no longer align with current developments. This decision was made during a meeting of the Supreme Committee of the National Center for Standards.

During its meeting on Wednesday, the committee discussed several agenda items, including a comprehensive report on the center’s activities during 2024, the approval of regulations and conditions for financial incentives, and the adoption of regulatory guidelines for handling genetically modified materials, according to a statement by the ministry on Thursday.

The committee also assigned the center the responsibility of issuing management system certifications, including those for quality, environment, food safety, and occupational health and safety, with the goal of enhancing quality standards and compliance across various sectors.
