Minister of Planning of the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Zaidani, has discussed with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Libya, Sophie Kimkhadze, the mechanism of joint work during the next phase, and the existing projects between the two parties, including Water Security Strategy, which is scheduled to be launched soon.

Kimkhadze stressed the importance of working with Libyan and international partners to achieve sustainable development goals in Libya, and noted the importance of joint projects, including the Capacity Building Project, the Peacebuilding and Local Resilience Enhancement Program, and other projects, according to a statement by the ministry on its Facebook page.

The UN official praised the efforts of the Ministry of Planning in following up on the Sustainable Development Goals and its presentation of the Second Voluntary National Report for 2024 at the Political Forum on Sustainable Development, which was held under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

Kemkhadze  also confirmed that the United Nations Development Program in Libya works as a key partner to the Government of National Unity through the United Nations Framework for Sustainable Development Cooperation (2023-2025), then made a series of inquiries about the funding required for the reconstruction funds, stressing the program's commitment to its pledges to provide the necessary funding for participation.
