Transport Ministry suspends flights to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan after forcing flights to land at Benina Benghazi

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Hisham Boshkiwat has confirmed that all flights which rout passes over the eastern region, including trips heading for Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, will be temporarily suspended until alternative routes are provided.

Bushkiwat said in a press statement that they are working to secure approval from the Egyptian authorities to use the Mediterranean air as an alternative route to reach the Egyptian airspace and then to Jeddah and Amman. "If not, flights heading for the countries mentioned would be suspended" he underscored.

He further explained that they will not allow the landing of Libyan aircrafts at Benina Airport and expose Libyan citizen to insult and humiliation, under the pretext of security measures, according to him.
