A Tunisian court specializing in terrorism cases has sentenced six Libyan nationals to 44 years in prison each for their involvement in an attempted assassination of Abdulmajid Mliqta, an adviser to Libya’s Government of National Unity, on June 13 last year.

According to Tunisia’s Mosaique FM, two of the accused remain at large, and their case files have been referred to the court for terrorism-related offenses.

Meanwhile, Tunisian authorities have arrested the remaining four suspects and are coordinating with Libya’s Attorney General’s Office to extradite them.

The defendants were convicted on multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, forming a terrorist group, and supplying weapons and ammunition.
