The head of the High National Election Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, met with British Ambassador Martin Longden on Monday to discuss international support for the country’s electoral process.
Talks focused on Libya’s readiness to hold the second phase of municipal council elections in 2025. Both sides stressed the need to create a stable environment to ensure fair and transparent elections that meet public expectations.
Ambassador Longden reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to providing technical and advisory support to help Libya’s election commission strengthen its capacity and uphold electoral integrity.
