The UN Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs, Stephanie Koury, held talks with Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour on Wednesday to discuss strengthening human rights protections in the country.
In a post on X, Koury described the discussion as "constructive," noting that it focused on accountability, the recent arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), and concerns over arbitrary detention and corruption.
She reaffirmed the UN mission’s commitment to supporting Libya in addressing these challenges.
