The United Nations has announced the extension of the Flash Appeal for Flood Response in Derna and Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar until March 2024 to meet remaining humanitarian needs and facilitate the transition of support and assistance.

In a statement containing the latest developments on the floods of September last year, the United Nations indicated that humanitarian needs included, sanitation, health, protection, mental health, psychosocial support, and education areas.

According to the UN the number of recorded deaths reached 5,898, in addition to 250,000 affected people, 44,000 displaced people, and 11,000 suffering from neglect.
