The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has welcomed the release of several detainees across the country, including those held arbitrarily. However, it has called for the immediate release of all remaining individuals subjected to unlawful detention.

In a statement issued on Saturday, UNSMIL also voiced concern over reports of the enforced disappearance of engineer Mohamed Al-Qamati. The mission urged Libyan authorities to conduct a transparent investigation and disclose his whereabouts.

The UN mission further emphasized the need for all parties to uphold the rule of law and ensure accountability for any human rights violations.
