The Embassy of the United States reaffirmed its support for the National Oil Corporation (NOC), praising the rapid action taken by the security services in Tripoli against the attack, which targeted its headquarters on Monday.
The embassy renewed in a statement the United States’ support for the NOC whilst carrying out its mandate in a political and autocratic manner on behalf of all Libyans.
The statement also stressed that any attempt by armed groups, political factions, or any other institutions in order to pressurize employees of the NOC or to obstruct the transparent management of the energy sector, totally contradicts the hopes and aspirations of Libyans for a brighter and more prosperous future.
