The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, welcomed Wednesday the outcomes of the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) summit that was held in Al Ula in Saudi Arabia, saying it helped boost relations in the region leading to more solidarity in the Arab world.
Al-Sarraj hoped the Gulf reconciliation would reunite Arabs and help achieve stability and security in Libya, putting an end to negative interventions in the country, reiterating the importance of building on the principles of the Gulf reconciliation of respecting the sovereignty and unity of states as well as boosting strategic cooperation among Arab countries to achieve economic and social development.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister of the Government of National Accord Mohammad Sayala hailed the GCC summit outcomes, welcoming the final statement's confirmation of the sovereignty and unity of Libya and rejection of foreign interventions.
"We hope this achievement would have a positive impact on peace tracks in Libya and to end negative foreign interventions." Sayala added, applauding the roles of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar's leaderships in bridging the gap among Gulf states.
The 41st GCC summit in Al Ula saw agreements on cooperation among all states and a reopening of Saudi-Qatari borders after over three years and a half of boycott, along with Bahrain, UAE and Egypt.
