The Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Unity, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, has discussed with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Libya, Aeneas Chapinga Chuma, supporting municipalities in implementing development projects.
Both sides discussed key files, including peacebuilding, climate change, transfer of competencies, and activating local revenues.
Al-Toumi presented the ministry’s efforts to transfer primary health care competencies to municipalities, and requested technical support from the United Nations, according to a statement by the Ministry of Local Government on its Facebook page.
He stressed the importance of joint work in the emergency and rapid response file, while Chuma expressed the mission's readiness to provide the necessary support, praising the ministry's achievements, especially in the internal displacement file.
