The head of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki, says despite the presence of the UN mission in Libya for 8 months, the situation in the country has not improved, but actually has worsened.

Faki stressed during talks with President of Congo on Libya that it’s time to take action.

"The African Union has been marginalized with respect to finding a solution to the Libyan crisis," Faki said.

He emphasized that there is a need to work jointly with the United Nations and the rest of international partners, in order to reach a solution to the Libyan crisis.

"The situation in Libya and the Sahel region will be a top priority for the upcoming African Summit," He stressed.
