Defend Benghazi Brigades (DBB) issued a statement on Saturday saying that its fight is only directed at what it described as “Dignity Operation militias” and their coup plot as well as those who are following this coup and are involved in shedding the blood of the innocent Libyans.

“We’re not fighting any tribe or clan in Libya; neither are we fighting those who have gotten different ideologies or visions from us.” The DBB’s statement adds.
The DBB called on all the eastern region’s tribes to disown Khalifa Haftar, urging at the same time for the deployment of all the Libyan revolutionaries to be ready to stand up for the February 17 revolution against the coup plotters.

The statement was issued a day after the DBB fighters had shot down a helicopter for the Dignity Operation forces as it was trying to target the DBB forces heading to Zillah district in central Libya.

Three pilots onboard the helicopter died in the downing whose footage was posted by DBB’s media office on Saturday, showing the crashed helicopter.
