The Ministry of Local Government in the Government of National Unity announced, on Friday evening, that it was working on signing a joint bilateral cooperation agreement with Tunisia in the field of waste disposal.
Officials from the General Administration of Environmental Sanitation Affairs at the Ministry of Local Government met in Tunisia, with the Director of the Tunisian National Agency for Waste Management, the Director of the Municipal Support Program, and the accompanying team of the German Organization for Technical Cooperation (GIZ), according to a statement issued by the Libyan Ministry.
The meeting aimed to sign a joint bilateral cooperation agreement between the two countries, to implement training programs for Libyan cadres, and to enhance the capabilities and skills of employees in the Ministry of Local Government from various specializations who are concerned with the final disposal of sanitary waste, and other technical programs, to improve practices related to waste management and environmental preservation.
The attendees also discussed programs related to exchanging experiences and knowledge and developing joint strategies to address waste issues.
