The national authority of Chemical Weapons Agreement announced that the issue of the Libyan chemical stockpile has ended for good after it has all been moved to Germany for destruction.
The authority added that Libya has fulfilled all its commitments regarding the disposal of the chemical weapons, pointing out that the agreement states that Libya should obtain modern technological equipment in the field of disposing of chemical weapons and protection from chemical substances, besides getting training programs to form technical crews who would be able to operate the new technological equipment.
The planning and execution operations for the removal of the chemicals from Libya were very professionally carried out by Libyan experts and technicians, the authority added, stressing that there were no casualties in the operation nor were there any contamination all along the period of the disposal process.
On August 27, a Danish ship shipped the last chemical load from Libya to Germany to lock off the Libyan chemicals issue once and for all, thus making Libya thoroughly void of chemical weapons or chemical substances.
