Presidential Council (PC) Head, Mohamed Menfi, held discussions on Sunday with Rosemary DiCarlo, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, and Stephanie Koury, the acting head of the UN mission in Libya.
The talks focused on the nation's political, economic, and military landscape and emphasized the ongoing efforts to drive forward the stalled political process.
During the meeting, DiCarlo underscored the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure that all Libyan parties commit to meaningful dialogue, leading to a long-awaited consensus and pave the way for peace and stability.
She expressed her support for the PC's head, praising his "measured steps towards comprehensive peace" in Libya.
For his part, Menfi vowed to work closely with the UN mission, highlighting the need to foster national solutions, promote unity across Libya's fractured institutions, and ensure the implementation of a political roadmap that could stabilize the country and enable elections.
DiCarlo is on a multi-day visit to Libya, which will run until Wednesday, to meet key figures in an effort to revive the political process.
According to the UN mission, the visit aims to explore avenues for supporting Libyan and international efforts to bring the country back on the path to peace and stability.
Earlier on Sunday, DiCarlo also met with Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah, who updated her on government initiatives aimed at enhancing security in Tripoli and upholding the rule of law.
