The Ministry of Justice of the Government of National Unity denied on Monday the issuance of any procedures regarding the release of Abdullah Al-Senussi. The ministry described on its Facebook page what is being circulated on social media pages in this regard as misleading information.
The ministry clarified that the accused "Abdullah Al-Senussi" is appearing before the judiciary, and is still detained and undergoing trial, and there is no truth to the existence of any procedure for his release. It called on all citizens to beware of campaigns from unknown sources that are trying to stir up public opinion with misleading and untrue information.
The ministry called on all media outlets to follow the official media platforms affiliated with the Ministry of Justice or all components of the judiciary to follow any news related to the course of justice and all matters related to any case before the Libyan judiciary.
Earlier, the lawyer for the families of the victims of Abu Salim prison, Fathi Terbel, revealed, quoting sources he described as reliable, that a permit will be signed to release Abdullah Al-Senussi for health reasons.
In statements to Tanasuh TV Channel, Terbel said that continuing to disregard the judiciary, disregard trial procedures, and disrespect people's feelings will have very serious repercussions.
The families' lawyer confirmed that there is a great deal of tension due to this decision, which will cause people to go out in front of the Ministry of Justice, the Prime Minister's Office, the Deterrence Force, and the Presidential Council headquarters, warning the government, the Presidential Council, and the Ministry of Justice that with such a decision, things will not go well.
Terbel also accused the legal department that issues decisions on the health status of prisoners of conspiracy, noting that it has become unreliable because many of those released have been found to be in good health.
