Mohammed Takala, the Head of the High Council of State (HCS), convened with U.S. Envoy Richard Norland on Wednesday at the Council's HQ in Tripoli.

Joining them were Masoud Obeid, the First Deputy Head of the Council, and Council members Hassan Al-Habib and Abdulaziz Hareebah.

The meeting focused on the latest political developments in the region, the Libyan political landscape, and the proposal of the UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily.

Takala affirmed the HCS's readiness to engage in dialogue sessions planned under UN supervision without any preconditions or restrictions, emphasizing the Council's prioritization of public and national interests.

Meanwhile, Norland described the meeting as positive and emphasized the vital role of the HCS in supporting progress towards successful national elections.

The parties underscored the importance of constructive participation in the preparatory talks of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
