Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Nafti reiterated his country's readiness to contribute to supporting dialogue and reconciliation efforts in order to reach a permanent political solution in Libya.
The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on its official website on Saturday that "Nafti informed the Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Koury, during their meeting to discuss the latest developments in Libya, of Tunisia's readiness to contribute to everything that would support dialogue, consensus and reconciliation efforts in order to reach a permanent Libyan-Libyan political solution."
Nafti also reiterated Tunisia's commitment to continue supporting the efforts of the United Nations in Libya and the mandate of the UN mission.
Koury valued Tunisia's support for the UN mediation in Libya, expressing her deep appreciation and thanks to Tunisia for its cooperation, support for the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, and providing all necessary help to facilitate the UN mission's performance of its tasks.
She referred on X platform to her meeting with the Tunisian FM and their agreement on the necessity of stability in Libya, and pushing the political process forward.
Koury's visit to Tunisia, the country that hosted several rounds of dialogue to reconcile Libyans on military, political and economic tracks, came amid the ongoing tension over the crisis of managing the Central Bank, and the halt in Libyan oil production.
