A Benghazi female student, living in the eastern city of Bayda, has hanged herself inside her university campus, Bayda Media Center reported on Saturday.
Mawadda, 20, a student of English at Omer Al-Mukhtar University, hanged herself by her head scarf inside the bathroom of the Faculty of Arts, bringing the number of suicides in the city to more than 15 in less than a month.
Her classmates rushed her to the hospital, but it was too late, the media center said.
Omer Al-Mukhtar University declared a 3-day mourning and suspended classes starting from Saturday.
Meanwhile, 3 teenagers have been rescued before committing suicide in the past 3 days.
A wave of mysterious suicides among teenagers is sweeping Bayda with no actions from state authorities to uncover the real reasons of suicides.
