The first stage of the gas pipeline project that aims at operating Zuwara desalination station has begun.
The project will target a capacity of 28 million cubic feet for an area of 10 kilometers long.
Works have started as tracks have been opened in preparation for the second phase, which is the engineering work.
Whereas, the third stage will be for the execution.
A team from North Africa Eni Company and a local specialized team as well as Zuwara desalination station and Militah Gas and Oil Marketing Company paid may field visits to the site, where they obtained the needed information about the track of the gas pipeline.
"The second phase will take 8 week maximum and afterwards, the execution phase will kick off starting with digging and then pumping gas into the pipeline." One engineer, Adel Al-Fentazi, told Zuwara media office.
Zuwara desalination station feeds the western region from Al-Ajilat to Ras Ajdair with drinking water.
