The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, has taken into consideration the presence of the two governments in the country in securing municipal council elections, as the HNEC will be the one who will lead the election operations room.
Al-Sayeh added in an interview on the podcast that this proposal stipulates the establishment of three security rooms in Benghazi, Tripoli, and Sabha, with the main room being at the HNEC headquarters in Tripoli.
This proposal was accepted by all parties, noting that according to this proposal they transferred the responsibility for securing municipal elections from the government to the HNEC in a new form, Al-Sayeh added.
