The Audit Bureau is in talks with Japan’s Board of Audit to enhance financial oversight and professional training, officials have confirmed.

Deputy Auditor General Atiya Allah Abdul Karim met with Japan’s Ambassador to Libya, Shimura Izuru, on Thursday to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting, held at the Audit Bureau’s headquarters, was also attended by senior Libyan officials and Japan’s Deputy Ambassador, Masaki Amadera.

Discussions focused on a potential partnership agreement aimed at exchanging expertise in financial auditing and training personnel. 

The talks also addressed the prospects of Japanese companies re-entering the Libyan market, with the Audit Bureau pledging to facilitate their return.
