The Minister of the Interior, Fathi Bashaga, on Tuesday, considered the approval by the Egyptian parliament to deploy ‘combat forces’ outside its western borders as nothing less than “a declaration of war against Libya”, in a direct violation of the Arab League and the United Nations charters.

Bashaga also added on his Twitter account, “We consider any foreign forces inside our borders as hostile and we declare that we will not hesitate to defend the sovereignty, security and freedom of our nation”.

Prior to this statement, Bashaga condemned foreign states who support Haftar, accusing them of being the fundamental reason for the killing and destruction, which the country is presently experiencing.
