The UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, has commended Muhammad Menfi, the Presidential Council's head, for his role in setting the country for the polls this year, deeming him as "a key partner in the UN plan to organize the elections."
Bathily's remarks came at a meeting with Menfi at the PC HQ in Tripoli on Monday.
The UN official briefed Menfi on his recent visits to neighbouring countries and his meetings with local parties, including the (5 + 5) Joint Military Committee (JMC).
They also reviewed the evacuation of mercenaries and foreign forces from Libya, according to the PC media office.
