The head of the Presidential Council, Mohammad Menfi, has received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, as part of the ongoing consultations on the political process and coordination regarding the upcoming preparatory meeting of the representatives of major Libyan stakeholders.
“Menfi updated me on his meetings with regional and international partners during Conference of the Parties (COP28) and the support he solicited from all in favour of my initiative's implementation, which I welcomed”, Bathily said on his X platform page.
The two parties agreed on the necessity to exert all efforts to realize, once and for all, a resolution to the remaining contentious issues to enable elections in fulfilment of the expectations of the people of Libya.
