Canada has reaffirmed its continued support for the efforts of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) to achieve free and credible elections in Libya, appreciating the efforts made to implement electoral processes in accordance with internationally recognized standards and principles.
This came through the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, Isabelle Savard’s meeting with the HNEC Chairman, Imad Al-Sayeh, according to the HNEC Facebook page.
Both sides reviewed the international community support for the elections in Libya, confirming the HNEC readiness to implement the municipal council elections.
