The General Directorate for Drug Control confirmed that the director of its southern Tripoli branch, Lieutenant Colonel Ali Abu Shihiwa, was shot dead by unknown persons in Qasr bin Ghashir area on Tuesday morning.

The Interior Ministry clarified on Facebook that the investigations had already began to detect the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The General Directorate of the Drug Control and the Ministry of Interior did not indict anyone yet for the killing of Abu Shihiwa pending the results of the investigations.
