The Special Envoy for Libya of the Italian Foreign Ministry, Nicola Orlando, has stressed the priority of elections and the urgency of a unified and inclusive executive to get there, noting that all key stakeholders should put Libya before their particular interests.

This came during his phone call with the Prime Minister of the parallel government, Fathi Bashagha.

"I had a thorough and constructive call with PM designated Fathi Bashagha. We agree that all actions that could lead to instability and violence should be avoided”, Orlando tweeted.

“I also reiterated that the neutrality of the National Oil Corporation and sovereign positions should be preserved, and national resources used in a transparent and equitable way”, he added.
