The Ministries of Health and Interior concurred to initiate a unified system, in cooperation with the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), to deal urgently with the epidemiological situation in the country.

This came during a meeting of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Samir Koko, with the members of the main department to confront Coronavirus at the Ministry of Interior, during which they held discussions on the epidemiological situation in Libya.

All of the attendees agreed to initiate a central department between the Ministries of Health and Interior to develop a joint plan regarding the ports, discussing the most imminent problems facing both ministries in confronting the Coronavirus pandemic, which included the closure of the Wazen border crossing with Tunisia and raising preventative and precautionary measures at all land, air and sea ports.
