The Presidential Council (PC) has launched an international audit of the country’s budget in coordination with the United Nations, in a bid to ensure transparency and financial oversight.
PC Head Mohamed Menfi announced the initiative on social media platform X, saying the audit aims to promote fiscal sustainability amid the ongoing division of Libya’s financial and regulatory institutions.
"Through close coordination with the UN and allied nations, we are pursuing an impartial international audit of all budgetary components and institutions without exception," Menfi said.
He stressed the importance of a unified national budget, arguing that decentralization and political stability have contributed to economic growth. Maintaining this momentum requires a transparent financial framework rooted in accountability and governance, he added.
