The Ministry of Interior has requested the UN Security Council to include those who carry out attacks on airports and civilian facilities on the list of international sanctions.

"Last Saturday's attack on Mitiga airport has left a number of injuries among the passengers and pilgrims and caused damage to airplanes and the airport's infrastructure, in addition to creating a state of panic and terror in the airport," the ministry stated.

It stressed that the bombing of the airport is considered a terrorist crime, vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice.
